Clint McKelvey

Clint McKelvey’s first Olympic Marathon Trials qualification came through winning the 2023 Eugene Marathon. The Duke graduate had represented the United States at the 2011 NACAC Cross Country Championships before developing into a post-collegiate marathoner with Georgetown Running Club. His 2024 Trials biography also recorded a 63:16 half marathon from the previous year. [1]

McKelvey described balancing high-level running with a demanding career as one of his proudest accomplishments. At the time of the Orlando Trials, he worked as a data science manager and trained with a club whose members held full-time jobs. That setting matters to his story: his Trials berth came through an ambitious amateur training community, years after his collegiate cross-country career, rather than immediately following graduation.
