Lars Dewall

Lars Dewall’s endurance background includes Nordic skiing as well as running. At the College of St. Scholastica, he competed in skiing, cross country and track, placing fourth in the freestyle 10K at the 2023 Central Regional ski championships. In cross country, he became an All-American in 2023 and set the program’s 8K record at the NCAA Division III North Regional. [1][2][3]

In an October 2026 appearance on The Marathon Podcast, Dewall discussed developing as a marathoner while working as a middle-school teacher. The interview’s starting point was an unusually short preparation for his first marathon, followed by a much deeper commitment to the distance. His skiing background and teaching schedule make his route into the event distinctive: endurance training grew across seasons and sports before becoming focused on the marathon. [4]
