Tai Dinger

Tai Dinger came to the marathon from middle-distance running at Stanford. His collegiate biography records All-America honors and performances spanning the 800 meters through 5,000 meters, including a 4:03.63 indoor mile. The Washington, D.C., native remained with the program as a graduate student in management science and engineering. [1]

His academic work later moved toward health policy and law. Harvard’s Petrie-Flom Center identifies Dinger as a JD/PhD student whose earlier engineering work at Epic Systems involved health-care software. That background provides a different perspective on his move up in distance: his 2025 Chicago Marathon appearance belongs to a running career continuing alongside advanced study, after years focused on much shorter track races.
